THE WOOD OVEN AT JENKINS & SONS

Dearest people of Penn Hill, patrons, pals, and passers by,

It’s an exciting time for Jenkins & Sons. We are evolving, pivoting, adapting, changing to offer you the best time when you walk through our doors and more hugs to reward your loyalty.

From 2nd July, we will begin a two week transition in our kitchen to bring you the wood-fired loveliness that our beach-side pizza parlour – The Wood Oven, has been #cookingwithfire for the past two years on Boscombe Beach.

For a long time we’ve had dreams of a craft beer, cocktail and wood fired pizza venue.  With great food and a relaxed vibe to suit the modern diner and drinker.  We thought it might be an addition to our group, but to be honest we think it makes more sense just to tweak Jenkins & Sons into this model.  Really good pizzas, and small plates such as lasagne and meatballs will work really well with our beers, spirits and informal vibe at Jenkins & Sons.  The bar will now spill into the restaurant side of the venue making the whole space work whether for just drinks or dining.  We’re confident you’ll like the improvements.

In addition during the daytime we can offer some great healthy wraps and open sandwiches keeping you flavour and nutrition satisfied for a great price.  Or just pop in for a coffee and a croissant.  We’ll also be offering some great breakfasts during the weekends

We are keeping the bar open during the changes so keep visiting and check on our progress. Food will be available too throughout the works, but check with us on the day for specials.  It will be a limited menu of sharing platters, meats, cheeses, scotch eggs, pasties and sausage rolls, all sent over from our bakers and chefs at our other venues.

The improvements should take around ten days, and we’ll be open throughout apart from Monday 2nd July. Please come and chat to us about plans, we are very excited and we hope you will be too. Once the new menu fully launches you can enjoy a pizza with your pint, bar snacks with your beer and platters with your prosecco.
